So…Who Am I?

I am Brian. I am based out of the Hudson Valley in New York and I’ve been a musician in some capacity for as long as I can remember. I graduated college in 2019 with a bachelors in classical music performance for classical guitar. I’ve always been a huge fan of instrumental music and particularly the soundtracks of a lot of video games, and I learned a lot about both composition and the industry from Jason Graves while taking his composition course. My goal now is to find as many projects as I can and try to add to them with my music.

Some of my favorite composers for video games are Nobuo Uematsu, Yoko Shimomura, Jesper Kyd. and Kō Otani. If it wasn’t obvious from that list, I am a big fan of the JRPG genre, particularly games that put a heavy emphasis on storytelling such as the later Final Fantasy games, Kingdom hearts, or the Assassin’s Creed games (I really enjoy the historical fiction style storytelling in the earlier Assassins Creed games). I also am a huge fan of Rougelikes/Rougelites, a couple of my favorites in particular are the Hades series and the Binding of Isaac.

Outside of the video game world, I’ve spent a lot of time working with classical music as a performer, and am very fond of the romantic era of classical music. I really enjoy composers from that era such as Chopin or Debussy, and as a guitarist I've learned and enjoyed a great deal of pieces from composers such as Albéniz, Barrios, Sor, and more modern artists such as Andrew York or Satoshi Gogo.

I still play guitar every day, and one of my favorite things to do is try and make my own arrangements of pieces for guitar. I find video game music to be an endless trove of pieces worthy of guitar arrangements, and have done quite a few myself from the Pokemon series (the original red and blue soundtrack lends itself very well for guitar arrangements). I’ve also tried my hand at arranging a few different pieces from Studio Ghibli movies for guitar.

If you’ve gotten this deep into my website, just know that you are an awesome person and I appreciate you taking the time to read up a bit about me! I hope you enjoy my compositions and keep me in mind for any projects you or someone you know may be working on!
